My Everyday Bag

Before the holidays I began the search for a structured handbag that wasn’t too expensive, would keep its shape and would hold everything from file folders to my laptop; without looking like a piece of luggage. I stumbled upon this bag on Amazon and with the rave reviews, the price point, and the sleek, chic design (very similar to this high-end designer bag), I ordered it. A few months in and I can honestly say it is one of my favorite purses I have purchased. The quality surpasses some of my more expensive bags and the size is just large enough to tote my laptop but also small enough to head to happy hour after work without looking like I just stepped off the plane. Best part is comes 26 – YES – 26 colors!

I selected a neutral canvas with coordinating leather. Gave it one spray of scotch guard to protect the canvas and haven’t looked back! How fun is this orange for summer?!

Hello….

…is this thing on… it’s been FAR too long since my last post! So many exciting things happening – my boyfriend proposed in October, the holidays are upon us and we are in full wedding planning mode – needless to say the celebrations have not stopped!

I can’t believe the year is almost over and Christmastime is here. Every year I look forward to slowing down and enjoying the season with my friends and family. It’s a running joke in my family that once December 1 rolls around they can expect my wish list in their inbox! Sharing a peek at my wish list below.

Coffee Table Book – Being newly engaged my eyes are on all things bridal! This book was one of the first things on my list – the most chic bridal inspiration! Not to mention will look great on my coffee table.

Structured Tote – I need a new tote that I can fit everything and won’t lose its shape; this one fits the bill. And it’s on Amazon Prime – win!

Oversized Bracelets – Seems like I have been collecting bracelets lately – how great is this lucite one?!

Casual Sneakers – My white sneakers have seen better days and I am need of an upgrade.

Hyped Facial Products – In 2019 I want to take better care of my skin and this three-step process has amazing reviews.

Checked Bag – truth is I already purchased this one for myself. I needed a bag that I could check for an upcoming trip and the price and style was right on this one.

G P & J Baker for H&M

Another H&M collaboration for the win! Working in the world of interiors I see beautiful wallpaper and fabrics daily – a favorite has always been the iconic British wallpaper and textile house GP & J Baker. They have teamed up with H&M to bring a few fabulous floral and geometric prints to an amazing line of affordable pieces. Shop my favorites from the collection below.

Cane Craze

Owning a home has been such a fun journey, however I am continuously making a list of projects I want to start or pieces I want to acquire. Recently I have been drawn to the look of natural cane and light wood. It still has an airy feel and isn’t the commitment of a dark, heavy wood piece or the opposite, a stark white piece. I purchased this credenza for my guest bedroom and absolutely love it. Now if only I could find a place for the chair below. And what a fabulous bar the armoire would make!

Gola Sneakers

I wish I was spending my summer in sandals however I have been reaching for my sneakers due to a recently fractured foot!  I came across Gola tennis shoes and love the designs not to mention their storied past – the company dates back to 1905!  So many amazing styles that have been revived from their collections over the years – I think I found my next purchase.

The Art of Layering

A few months back when I was in New York I stumbled upon the new Gorjana store in the West Village. I immediately fell in love with the pieces {and the merchandising}. The girls working there were so fun and helped me layer and try on all sorts of amazing pieces. I am 5’11” and sometimes I find the finer pieces just don’t work on my frame. After a little guidance {and layering} I scooped up my first two pieces and already can’t wait to add to my collection. Best part – the fine finishes, the light weight and versatility of each piece.

Dressing Debate

Some days I wish I had a closet full of high-end party dresses for everyday wear and other days I wish I could live in sweatpants and tennis shoes. I typically settle on a happy medium of casual dresses and flats or jeans and sweaters but lately I am reaching for nothing but comfort. I scooped up these and these and have a feeling they are going to get a lot of weekend wear.

Round Hill

Last month when our original vacation plans to Cabo were spoiled by a hurricane we made the quick decision to change locations (thanks to the ease of Southwest) and picked Jamaica. Literally 24 hours before we were set to arrive – Round Hill Resort came to our rescue. What a treat we were in for. Five amazing days spent in paradise – no schedules, no place to be, minimal cell phones and no TV – the relaxation was just what I needed.

The resort is truly one of a kind – steeped in history, beautiful architecture and the most amazing people. JFK and Jackie honeymooned here, Megan Markle and Prince Harry visited last year, Ralph Lauren owns a few villas and frequents often – not to mentioned designed several of the public spaces.

Not only did we come home with amazing memories – but lots of design inspiration too! I can’t wait to get back.

Neck Scarf

This summer I have been reaching for my light weight scarves and bandanas to add a twist to my basic summer knits. There are so many ways you can tie it but I love a simple knot near the neck. When you aren’t wearing it around your neck try tying in your ponytail or as a headband.
