wide stripes
May 21, 2013

On average, I wear stripes at least twice a week, sometimes much more. My closet is full of stripes and I love the idea of incorporating them into my home. These pieces have me inspired to recover a piece of furniture. How beautiful is the blue stripe on the first set of chairs?!

american style
May 16, 2013

It’s quite obvious I am constantly inspired by interiors, and ones that are “accessible and chic” are my ideal. I love the work of Nathan Turner, and just my luck he is having a book signing here in New Orleans, for his very first book, American Style!  Join us at Tara Shaw on Thursday, May 30, from 5-7 pm, for an evening of timeless tips on style and effortless entertaining.

Ok, not really feeling blue, but definitely feeling this blue and white color scheme. I love these finds from Furbish Studios.

in with the mirrors
April 10, 2013

I came across this post on Style Me Pretty, and love the idea of a new take on party signs. Out with the chalkboards and in with the mirrors.  The writing on this mirror is darling and I love how it serves as the back drop for the cocktail bar. Click-through the images for the full DIY!

the many shades…

….of orange. I love this shade lately; from home accents, to clothing, to the fruit itself. I can’t get enough. Here are a few inspiring photos as of late.

the doors of Savannah
March 29, 2013

Our trip to Savannah last weekend was a great one. There’s nothing better than a small southern town, filled with rich history. The houses were to die for, and I couldn’t help but capture all the colorful doors. It’s amazing the impact a bold door can make on an older home.

pretty prints
March 18, 2013

I have a little bit of everything covering my walls; from photos, to prints, to vintage Vogue covers, and even a few framed cards. I love the little collection I have started and am always looking for unique pieces to add to it. I happened across these lovely prints over at shopfurbish.com; and I think I have to add one to my collection.

golden spear
February 20, 2013

The items you come home with after a Mardi Gras parade are pretty unbelievable. From blinking beads, to stacks of cups, to animals and toys you will most likely never use. I typically give my throws to the children around me, but this year I brought home a spear {a highly sought after throw} and decided to give it a little face lift. Of course, with gold spray paint that is. The spear came out great and has the perfect home on my mantle, now if only I had a few more.

let the light in

I came across these light fixtures recently and love the look, so industrial chic. One day I hope to have a place where these could work perfect, and how great are the colors? All are under $30! industrial chic

Since adding and removing furniture from my bedroom I have freed up a little wall space. I need one or two more pieces and have been on the hunt {mainly on 20×200.com}. I absolutely fell in love with these prints by Jane Mount, who doesn’t need a print of coffee table books?
