american style

It’s quite obvious I am constantly inspired by interiors, and ones that are “accessible and chic” are my ideal. I love the work of Nathan Turner, and just my luck he is having a book signing here in New Orleans, for his very first book, American Style!  Join us at Tara Shaw on Thursday, May 30, from 5-7 pm, for an evening of timeless tips on style and effortless entertaining.

Tara Shaw is located at 1240 Camp Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70130

in with the mirrors

I came across this post on Style Me Pretty, and love the idea of a new take on party signs. Out with the chalkboards and in with the mirrors.  The writing on this mirror is darling and I love how it serves as the back drop for the cocktail bar. Click-through the images for the full DIY!

P.S. Sorry for the lack of post, major internet problems. I’ve got some good ones lined up for the rest of this week!

the doors of Savannah

Our trip to Savannah last weekend was a great one. There’s nothing better than a small southern town, filled with rich history. The houses were to die for, and I couldn’t help but capture all the colorful doors. It’s amazing the impact a bold door can make on an older home.

pretty prints

I have a little bit of everything covering my walls; from photos, to prints, to vintage Vogue covers, and even a few framed cards. I love the little collection I have started and am always looking for unique pieces to add to it. I happened across these lovely prints over at; and I think I have to add one to my collection.

{I love the colorful headdress, what’s your favorite?}

golden spear

The items you come home with after a Mardi Gras parade are pretty unbelievable. From blinking beads, to stacks of cups, to animals and toys you will most likely never use. I typically give my throws to the children around me, but this year I brought home a spear {a highly sought after throw} and decided to give it a little face lift. Of course, with gold spray paint that is. The spear came out great and has the perfect home on my mantle, now if only I had a few more.

just a little accent

I finally found a dresser {briefly shown here} and started making changes around my bedroom to accommodate the style and size. The new piece is a total different shape then my last one and I now have the space for an additional accent piece in my room. I recently found several I love from Target, and majority happen to be on sale too {all under $65}!
