dark and dreary

The weather in New Orleans the last two weeks has been absolute dreary. From cold and raining, to warm and foggy, and now freezing with the chance of sleet. Needless to say I am counting down the days till we will see the sun again {they say Friday}. When the weather is like this I can’t help but reach for the darker items in my closet. Here are a few all black combinations I love, just add an umbrella and they would fit right in down here. 2013-01-15_23-03-04.44

weekend purchase

It’s nice to get out-of-town, especially when it involves visiting stores we are not fortunate enough to have here in New Orleans. This weekend included an extra long stop at Zara. I brought home several items, but I absolutely loved the skull scarves they had throughout the store. {These would make great gifts too; all under $30.}

look for less

Olivia Palermo is one of those girls that looks good in whatever she puts on. This particular look has me craving cooler winter weather and counting down the days till I can pull out my fur {faux that is} vest! Love the look? Get it for less, with my picks!

friday finds {new arrivals}

C.Wonder continues to impress me. The selection is the perfect mix of eclectic meets practical. You must check out the new arrivals, everything from piggy banks to pillows, coasters and cases. Here are my top picks!

currently craving…

I have several weddings between now and the new year and my cocktail dress collection is begging for a few new additions. I am currently loving a touch leather, a nice peplum, a great silhouette and a little embellishment!

short pants

I love the look of short pants {cropped pants or capris, whatever you want to call them}. Just something so visually interesting about the ankle showing. Wear a great heel or a casual bootie and the look is perfect! Here are some styles I currently adore.

falling for…

their way: one, two, three {all OVER $500}

the save way: one, two {all UNDER $55}

*P.S. I still can’t get over how expensive the inspiration jackets are! And the save way versions, BOTH from Target!

art for art’s sake

This weekend was absolutely perfect. I made the rounds to several different art markets throughout New Orleans and strolled my way all along Magazine St. for Art for Art’s Sake {think art crawl}. It is pretty amazing the inspiration you can gain from immersing yourself in the art that is around you. To top off the weekend a beautiful cool front came through on Sunday.

*These photos were snapped on Saturday evening, in much warmer temps.
