My boyfriend jeans have been in full rotation lately. From very casual to more dressy, I can’t seem to take them off.

The weather around here has been a little crazy! And by crazy, I mean WAY to warm for this time of year. It’s hard to get in the holiday spirit when you are pulling out your shorts, instead of your scarves. Lately I have tried my best to ”winterize” my looks, while still keeping cool in these warm temps. I love these Cole Haan booties {my newest addition}, and the best part, they were 60% off at the outlet!

October has been a whirlwind of a month and I still have a few more busy days ahead. From weddings and celebrations to festivals and updates around the house. I can certainly say I am looking forward to a little down time come November.

{yep, it’s still hot here, wearing the booties in hope of cooler temps.}

I love the look of short pants {cropped pants or capris, whatever you want to call them}. Just something so visually interesting about the ankle showing. Wear a great heel or a casual bootie and the look is perfect! Here are some styles I currently adore.

This weekend was absolutely perfect. I made the rounds to several different art markets throughout New Orleans and strolled my way all along Magazine St. for Art for Art’s Sake {think art crawl}. It is pretty amazing the inspiration you can gain from immersing yourself in the art that is around you. To top off the weekend a beautiful cool front came through on Sunday.
*These photos were snapped on Saturday evening, in much warmer temps.

I have to admit, I’m not afraid of color. And I love that color blocking is in style. No longer do you need to mix bold with basics. This look from laurenconrad.com is perfect and I cannot wait to duplicate. Don’t be afraid to introduce bold colors into your wardrobe even if it is only one or two pieces at a time.
A girlfriend and I recently went to dinner and she had on an un-buttoned basic chambray shirt over her maxi dress, I loved the idea! I recently wore a sheer lace top with my chambray top thrown over. Such an easy and care free look. {side note: after taking these pictures I realized this entire outfit, and necklace, is from forever21!}
