absolutely “wonder”ful

Before heading to NYC I read up on new and upcoming events, designers and store openings. I came across one person who had always sparked my interest. Chris Burch, the ex-husband of Tory Burch. I have come to learn he is a retailing genius! He recently opened C.Wonder,  a boutique in SOHO {there are 3 other locations as well}, and let me tell you something, it may have been what dreams are made of.

Holiday music, great {unique and affordable} gift items, a very helpful and colorful staff. I absolutely loved it! The merchandising was perfect and the selection was on point! I highly recommend you visit the store next time you are in NYC! No plans to travel to NYC? Don’t worry you can shop online {but, I will tell you the in-store selection is much larger}.

loosen up

Lately I feel like shoes are not fitting me like they used to. Either a tad to tight or a tad to big. I must confess to you my solution for too tight shoes {warning, it looks a little goofy}. If I am in between sizes I typically go with the ones that are to snug. In order to get them to loosen up a bit I put on my thickest socks and walk around the house, run errands {as long as you can’t see the socks} etc. This loosens them up just a bit and typically resolves the too snug shoe issue.

Bronze Oxfords: Fossil {I purchased mine at the outlet for $24.99}

why spend more…..

Yesterday I was seconds away from submitting an order on Nordstrom for this great pair of DV by Dolce Vita boots. But before I pressed complete order I decided to see if there was anything else out there similar {they also happened to be on Gilt, for a few dollars less}. Well wouldn’t you know it I found the exact style boots at Target. And right now Target is having a buy one get one half off sale on shoes {and free shipping over $50}. So I got myself a pair and my sister a pair for less then the sale price of the DV by Dolce Vita. The shopping gods once again reminded me that is there  no reason to spend a lot of money on something seasonal and so trendy. Just put in a little extra effort and a lot of dollars can be saved!

boot leggin’

Why didn’t I think of that…the most genius storage idea yet! Recently I pulled out all my winter clothes, boots, scarves etc. I had to do a little closet re-arranging. And was at a loss for my slouchy boots, that just wouldn’t stand up. Then I remembered bottles, wine bottles. They are the perfect shape and size to keep those boots standing tall!

the look of leather

Finding the right boots, for the right price can be difficult. I tend to spend more on my boots then any other shoes I purchase. I came across these ASOS boots and they could not be more perfect. Made of leather, the perfect shade of tan and under $120! {not too mention ASOS has Free Shipping and Free Returns}

{ASOS Cleo Leather Boots $113.49}

puttin’ on the glitz

I saw this DIY and absolutely loved the idea, I had to share! I have been swooning over the Miu Miu booties below {obviously way out of my price range, but hey a girl can dream}. And I love the look of the suede booties I have been seeing all over. This DIY does the perfect mash-up of these two looks!

{Miu Miu $890}

{Old Navy $25}

button up

Rachel Bilson has always been one of my favorite celebrity style icons. I absolutely love how she paired this printed button up with such bold pants {not to mention this seasons go to leopard print heels}. I have put together a few similar, affordable looks.

lovely loafers

Menswear plays an important role in this falls wardrobe. I absolutely adore the loafers {or smoking shoes as they are also called} that I have been seeing. More importantly I love the ones below. Slightly masculine in a feminine print.
