the doors of Savannah
March 29, 2013

Our trip to Savannah last weekend was a great one. There’s nothing better than a small southern town, filled with rich history. The houses were to die for, and I couldn’t help but capture all the colorful doors. It’s amazing the impact a bold door can make on an older home.

black & white in NYC
March 4, 2013

On my trip to New York last week, I couldn’t help but notice the abundance of black and white. From the windows at Bergdorf’s, to the floor tile at Magnolia Bakery, to the new arrival racks at H&M. Here are a few of my black and white NYC moments. Stayed tuned to shop the look later this week.

Everytime I am in New York I have my list of usual suspects to hit up. One of my first stops on the list is always Zara, I can’t wait to browse the racks!  The new arrivals lately online have been pretty eye catching, can’t wait what to see they have in store.

from nola, with love
October 30, 2012

At times like this it is difficult to write about materialistic things, after all it’s just stuff.  And as we know, way to well, down here in South Louisiana stuff can be replaced. Houses will be rebuilt, life as you knew it will slowly come back together {be patient and YES it will be very frustrating at times}. Communities will join hands and will be stronger than before. You will get through this, I promise, we did. And we continue to, as these terrible storms come ashore year after year.

For my friends on the east coast, we are thinking about you. And trust me we are all too familiar with the very raw emotions you are going through. At the end of the day it’s just stuff, so give thanks for those around you; your family, friends and support groups. And most importantly don’t forget to thank those first responders, energy workers, doctors and nurses who are working around the clock to get you put back together again.

fall in the kitchen
September 25, 2012

Ever year at this time, I anxiously await the cooler weather, pumpkin patches and cozy sweaters. I couldn’t wait any longer for my first taste of fall {no pun intended} and had to try out this recipe immediately. Baked apple chips are perfect for this time of year and bring a wonderful scent of fall throughout the house.

My sisters big weekend is finally here. I know it will be filled with great food, delicious drinks, but most of all amazing company! I am extremely excited to celebrate with good friends and family and the dance floor is already calling my name! I cannot wait till I can share with you the projects we have been working on for the big day and pictures from the weekend! How cute is this picture? I feel like we were just little girls just yesterday!  How funny are our matching outfits below? I love the neon, dots and stripes! So stylish!

I have to admit, I’m not afraid of color. And I love that color blocking is in style. No longer do you need to mix bold with basics. This look from laurenconrad.com is perfect and I cannot wait to duplicate. Don’t be afraid to introduce bold colors into your wardrobe even if it is only one or two pieces at a time.
