sandal ready

I came across some similar style sandals last season and was reminded of them again in this months Lucky Magazine. I recently stumbled upon an extremely similar pair, at the place I’d least expect, Rainbow, the random store in the mall that screams young teens. I saw them in window and didn’t hesitate to scoop up a pair. Now if only the weather would warm up……

waterlogue

I feel like I spend majority of my day tied to my iPhone. From emails, to social media and everything in between, it never leaves my hand. Today I really couldn’t put it down after coming across this new photo app, Waterlogue! It’s a little pricier than usual apps {$2.99} but I am pretty sure I’ve already got my money out of it. All photos taken on my iPhone and put through the natural filter. Once you start you won’t be able to stop!

getaway

We all have those moments where you just have to getaway. Pull yourself away from your routines and get out of dodge. My bf and I did this in December and it was just what we both needed. Some much-needed time together, time away from work {I even put my work email on silent}, and a little wandering around a city we don’t get to very often. We took a road trip to Asheville, NC and had the best time. Asheville is such a fun, cute little city with so many great new restaurants and old favorites to see {like the Biltmore} and being there around the holidays is pretty magical. I have to mention, we had the best time putting my camera on self-timer and taking our own pics. We had a few turn out pretty amazing, hey whatever works, right?

can’t forget color

As soon as the cooler weather rolls in, it seems everyone {including myself}, reaches for dark, neutrals and subdued clothing. This year I am going to strive to bring a little color into my winter wardrobe. So often I just pile on all black and head out the door, or throw on neutrals and call it a day. I am challenging myself {and you} to not forget the color this winter season. add color

must have

My olive military vest is in full rotation. It’s the perfect transition piece, light enough to add layers, but not warmth, and lays nicely over dresses, button downs and blouses. Once it gets a little cooler, it will be perfect for over sweaters as well. If you don’t have one, you should get one, I think you will be surprised at how much you wear it.

like list

With the arrival of each new season I create a “like list” in my phone to jot down items I love or need to replace. Right now a pair of Nike’s, an oversized neutral scarf and a cross-body purse are on the list. I tend to gravitate to larger bags, and could use to add a smaller bag to my collection.

down at seaside

Typically we spend July 4th at the beach but this year we decided to change things up and relax at home. Lucky for us, the weather was perfect, and from the looks of the weather channel the rain has been nonstop at the beach. These pictures are from my last beach trip on an outing to Seaside. Seaside is the small picturesque beach town, most known for the set it played for the Truman Show. The small town is now jammed packed with people, shopping, beach homes and bikes.
