fall in the kitchen

Ever year at this time, I anxiously await the cooler weather, pumpkin patches and cozy sweaters. I couldn’t wait any longer for my first taste of fall {no pun intended} and had to try out this recipe immediately. Baked apple chips are perfect for this time of year and bring a wonderful scent of fall throughout the house.

going to the chapel….

My sisters big weekend is finally here. I know it will be filled with great food, delicious drinks, but most of all amazing company! I am extremely excited to celebrate with good friends and family and the dance floor is already calling my name! I cannot wait till I can share with you the projects we have been working on for the big day and pictures from the weekend! How cute is this picture? I feel like we were just little girls just yesterday!  How funny are our matching outfits below? I love the neon, dots and stripes! So stylish!

colorful combo

I have to admit, I’m not afraid of color. And I love that color blocking is in style. No longer do you need to mix bold with basics. This look from laurenconrad.com is perfect and I cannot wait to duplicate. Don’t be afraid to introduce bold colors into your wardrobe even if it is only one or two pieces at a time.

This color has been declared the color of 2012! You have probably seen it all over the place by this point, but here a are a few tangerine tango  pieces I’m currently craving.

polka dots on top

So, here it is, my first outfit post! I wore this over the weekend and wanted to share a few shots. I absolutely love the bold jeans with the bright clutch, and who isn’t wearing polka dots right now? Not to mention a red lip as well!

P.S. I didn’t pay full price for anything I’m wearing! All were purchased on sale, with a groupon, or at an outlet.

you love it or you hate it

This time of year you can’t get away from it! The TV commercials are over powering! It’s dreaded by some, but loved by me. That’s right you guessed it Black Friday! So what are your big plans? I know most will probably stay far away from the shopping malls as possible. I on the other hand will be right in the thick of it. No matter where I have been for Thanksgiving I always try to get out there and shop on Black Friday {it helps boost the economy, right?}, you never know what finds you will come across and let’s be honest, there is always great people watching as well.

This year I will be out shopping at midnight on Thanksgiving night, yep midnight my friends. I am headed to Florida with family and friends and the outlet malls are the prime shopping for Black Friday. The outlet stores on the top of my list are Saks off 5th, JCrew, Banana Republic, Michael Kors, Kenneth Cole and DKNY. I have shopped these outlets before this time of year and it’s always such a pleasure {I scored a $14 Chloe top and $40 JBrands last trip}. Not to mention now is the perfect time to invest in winter pieces, especially since most shoppers in Florida steer away from those seasonal items.

One thing to remember while shopping, just cause it’s on sale doesn’t mean you need to buy it.

*make sure you will wear it, use it, or gift it

{can't wait to see what I can find}
