Shake it like a Polaroid Picture

A precious little pink camera arrived on my doorstep on Valentine’s Day {thanks Mom!} and I have had so much fun with it since! The Fuji Instax Mini is such a great way to capture photos! I’ve taken it to festivals, out on the town and pretty much everywhere – the best part – the instant gratification once you see your photos develop!

A Year in Review {2015}

2015 in Review

To say 2015 was a whirlwind, would have to be an understatement. The ups {traveling and turning 30} and downs {my dads accident and the passing of my grandmother} made this year like no other I’ve experienced. On top of it all, I did make some pretty amazing memories this year. In no particular order, these are a few of my favorites from 2015!

Eataly: I traveled to Chicago a few times this year for work and thoroughly enjoyed every minute! There is nothing more freeing than traveling solo. Eataly was top of my list for dinner on all of my trips! {see post}

Oak Alley Plantation: Such a fun day date; still can’t believe it was my first time visiting!  {see post}

St. Thomas: My boyfriend and I took our second annual December trip to St. Thomas and stayed a little longer this time, such a great getaway from it all. {last years post}

San Francisco: A last-minute trip to San Fran over Labor Day was the perfect getaway. My boyfriend had never been and we were full-on adventure mode!

Willa Jean: A favorite 2015 addition to the New Orleans food scene – the cutest bakery!

Mexico City: My bf spent the first half of the year in Mexico City and brought back these amazing hand embroidered fabrics!

Memorable Meal: If someone asked what was my favorite food I ate this year it would have to be Thanh Long in San Francisco – the most unassuming restaurant with the best crab I’ve every had!

Soho House: I stayed at the Soho House in Chicago on a business trip and have to say this hotel has to be one of favorites in the US!

Best Solo Adventure: Chicago again – on one of my visits I got to extend a day into the weekend and had a tourist solo day in the city. I visited the Art Institute of Chicago and throughly enjoyed the amazing collection and wandering aimlessly throughout the Museum.

Lundi Lunch: Lundi Gras is the day before Fat Tuesday and my friends and I have created a tradition {coming up on our fourth annual} to lunch at Commander’s Palace before taking in the evening parades. The most festive time of the year in New Orleans.

Family Snap: My mom snapped this picture on our first trip to Florida post my dads accident, it was so nice to be together as a family and to have my dad back on his feet.

Auntie: Having a niece has been oh so fun and Christmas was like no other. Already looking forward to next year!

Favorite Selfie: Who doesn’t love a good selfie?! This was one of my favorites of the year.

Turning 30: Holy cow, how am I 30?! I had the perfect 30th with my family and close friends. {see post}

Weekend Snapshots

The last two weekends have been packed with fun activities and the most beautiful weather. From a pumpkin patch visit, to French Quarter bike rides and trying new places; I wouldn’t change a thing. Here’s a glimpse. 2014-11-03_19-24-52{Finally picked out a new welcome mat

End of April

I can’t believe May is tomorrow!! Where has the time gone?! April was one of the busier months I have had in a while, traveling every weekend. From an art festival in Mississippi, to an extra long weekend in NYC and back to back beach weekends. This month was one for the books and I can’t wait to see what May has in store.

waterlogue

I feel like I spend majority of my day tied to my iPhone. From emails, to social media and everything in between, it never leaves my hand. Today I really couldn’t put it down after coming across this new photo app, Waterlogue! It’s a little pricier than usual apps {$2.99} but I am pretty sure I’ve already got my money out of it. All photos taken on my iPhone and put through the natural filter. Once you start you won’t be able to stop!

smiles all around

My weekend in Austin was such a success. Seeing old friends, making new ones and learning a few things along the way. On Saturday evening we had the opportunity to play with several brands and snap a few fun photos throughout the evening. I love these pics courtesy of Bonlook!

three days

I feel a little guilty not taking advantage of a three-day weekend and heading out-of-town, but I am very excited to stay around New Orleans and do a few things  that a normal two-day weekend just doesn’t allow for. The city is such an amazing place right now, with the Super Bowl buzz and the sights and sounds of carnival season, I can’t wait to get out and take advantage.

last minute plans

I went to Houston this past weekend for a very last-minute trip, and I couldn’t have asked for a better weekend! We did so much in the short time we were there and I discovered two new places I absolutely love  {Spec’s for the most amazing liquor and wine selection, and Tiny Boxwood’s, the cutest, most delicious brunch place ever}. Not to mention I came home with a super cute new pair of shoes and my first succulent!

{TIP: Add a shirt over your maxi dresses, for a different look}

in my backyard

From Jazz Fest to the French Quarter, this weekend had a common theme, local tourist. Sometimes it’s fun to do tourist things in your own backyard. Especially when the days are full of sunshine and the streets are full of smiling faces!

weekend bliss

This weekend was a cause for celebration! My first crawfish of the season, my first Saturday with no plans {spent by the pool} and gathering friends and family to celebrate my sister’s wedding with just the perfect shower. I can’t believe it went by so quickly! Here is a glimpse…
