for the love of donuts

Every time I visit my girlfriend in NYC, we have a reoccurring joke that I have to stop at Dunkin’ Donuts before I do anything else. I have a huge love for donuts, and thankfully there isn’t a donut shop around where I live or work, I wouldn’t have any self-control if there was. I came across this donut recipe that Joy the Baker shared, and now I know what my next kitchen purchase will be, a donut pan. How great do these look? Very doubtful that mine will turn out as pretty, but I can’t wait to give the recipe a try.

styling perfection

Veronica Beard is a designer whose collections I look forward to every season. I absolutely love her pieces and the looks she creates. The price points are out of my range, but the styling is perfect for inspiration. These images from her fall collection have me inspired and craving much cooler weather!

Best of… September

With October starting tomorrow {where does the time go?} I thought I would look back on a few of my favorite things from September. From an epic bike day with amazing friends, to trying new restaurants, picking up a few new clothing items, a trip to Austin, and a night with Jerry Seinfeld… September you were good, you were real good, can’t wait to see what the rest of Fall has in store.

friday finds: kismet

How is October just a few days away?! I didn’t get to soak up as much sun as I would have liked this summer, but I can keep a glow thanks to Kismet Opulent. I have never been one to spray tan or hit the tanning beds, but a streak free glow for one night, count me in! This is by far the best bronzing lotion I have tried, no strong smell, applies evenly and doesn’t rub off {little black dress & white dress tested}. If you are looking for a “one night highlight” this is the perfect lotion! And I can’t forget to mention, it’s only $19 a bottle!

must have

My olive military vest is in full rotation. It’s the perfect transition piece, light enough to add layers, but not warmth, and lays nicely over dresses, button downs and blouses. Once it gets a little cooler, it will be perfect for over sweaters as well. If you don’t have one, you should get one, I think you will be surprised at how much you wear it.

not just for teens

You never know where you will find inspiration, my latest find comes by way of PBteen! Yes, TEEN, don’t let that word fool you, Emily + Meritt have chosen some amazing pieces for their collection with the brand. So whimsical and fun! The beds and the bedding are so dreamy, I want to redo my bedroom stat!

Shop the Collection:

well painted

True story; I can paint my nails {on both hands}, rarely getting polish on my skin. I picked up this talent from my mom while watching her paint her nails growing up.  I’m able to save on manicures, change my polish often, and have created a nice little color collection to choose from. Marc Jacobs recently launched his beauty line and the nail polish is getting rave reviews. It has a very high-shine {which I LOVE} and is long-lasting, I can’t wait to pick up a few of these colors!

Shop the Shades:

busy, busy and another pair of booties

These last few weeks have been a whirlwind, from an extremely busy agenda at work, the bf heading off to Germany, a long football weekend in Austin, topped off with a Mumford and Sons concert last night… I am more than ready for a little normalcy around here, as well as, more time to devote to the blog.

As I was rushing out the door to get to Austin last Thursday I nearly tripped over a delivery at my back door, my newest pair of booties had arrived. I saw the pricier version at Anthropologie a while back, and when I saw the Target version, I ordered right away. The Target ones are not leather, but they still achieve the woven bootie look.
