friday finds {purchased}

When I first started Friday Finds, I wanted it to be about something I purchased, re-purposed or found that week. I kind of got away from that idea, but I am bringing it back, time to re-focus on my original objective.

Today’s Friday Find is this great top I purchased this week from Old Navy. I have a very good feeling I will be living in this for a while. I purchased a size bigger and love the flowy oversized look! It’s also a thin fabric which will be perfect to last through the summer. Photos to come on twitter over the next few weeks on ways to style. {thinking I may need the red stripe too}

Another edition of Pantone palate. I love this color pink {cabaret} and not just for the name, but the bright shade. Even if you don’t want to go all out with the color make a splash with a statement necklace, lightweight scarf or oversized clutch.

dress, bracelet, maxi skirt, necklace, clutch, jeans, umbrella, flip-flops

big easy style

New Orleans homes have always intrigued me,  not because tourist pay to take walking tours {which I highly recommend}, but because the eclectic design mix they all contain.  Majority of the homes I have been in have the right combination of style and antiques; drama and comedy; darks and lights; new and old. Not to mention most Garden District homes are well over a 100 years old. The house I live in was built-in 1903!

Bryan Batt is a New Orleans native and celebrity and not just known for his acting on Mad Men, but for his style! He is the author of this classic book that portrays the right amount of aged and modernism, tough and playfulness. I highly recommended for a gift or for yourself. I got mine for Christmas! And of course it’s displayed on the coffee table! {note the chapter titles, so inspirational even on their own}

and the oscar goes to….

Hands down, my best dressed pick goes to Michelle Williams. She looked absolutely stunning in Louis Vuitton.  The color, the simple details and her coloring (skin and hair) all worked together so perfectly! Not to mention the pastel colored clutch, I absolutely love the two colors together.

their way and the save way

My denim button up has been a staple in my wardrobe over the past year and I’m SO ready for spring, to pair with pastel jeans! Just another example that you don’t have to spend a lot! {both versions are 100% cotton too}

{their way current/elliot, $218}

{old navy $26.94}

follow friday

It’s finally Friday. This seems to be one of the longest weeks I’ve had in a while! The rest of the world will move on with their daily lives in the upcoming days, and we in New Orleans will take a much-needed break, and celebrate! Celebrate the Mardi Gras season. Follow me on instagram @luckygirlfinds for my photo updates and twitter as well!
